Dear Constituent,

Thank you for contacting me about H.R. 1831, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act. I am a cosponsor of this bill and appreciate your feedback.

Introduced by Representative Ron Paul, H.R. 1831 would exclude industrial hemp production from the definition of marijuana under the Controlled Substances Act, granting states authority in regulating this industry. It has been referred to the House Committees on Energy and Commerce and the Judiciary.

Please stay in touch. I look forward to seeing you in Vermont soon.

Sincerely,

PETER WELCH
Member of Congress
