LAKOTA
INDUSTRIAL HEMP PROJECT AT PINE RIDGE, SD
United
States vs. Alex & Percy White Plume
On August 10, 2002, the DEA
filed civil suit to stop Alex White Plume from growing
industrial hemp on Lakota sovereign land near Pine Ridge,
South Dakota. It was another example of ongoing harrassment
by the DEA. Check out the links below
for the entire story of why the Lakota have the right
to grow hemp on their land (1868
Fort Laramie Treaty) and how they plan to use hemp
to create jobs and build housing on
the reservation. The Pine Ridge reservation
is one of the poorest places in America. Why is the
DEA continuing to threaten and
harass Alex White Plume and his family for simply growing industrial
hemp?
