In July of 2000, we conducted a survey of Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and Greens running for the U.S. House of Representatives, Senate and Presidency. The results of this survey were compiled into a Hemp Voter Guide to help voters make informed decisions on election day. We then later updated the Voter Guide for the 2002 mid-term elections.

The Libertarian and Green parties both support allowing U.S. farmers to grow hemp, and ALL Libertarian and Green candidates are "pro hemp." Due to limited resources, we were unfortunately not able to list all of the Libertarian and Green candidates in our Voter Guide. However, we suggested that voters visit the party Web sites to find their local LP and Green candidates, and reminded them that those candidates were "pro-hemp."

If your Senator or Representative is not listed as "pro hemp," please write them and let them know you support allowing U.S. farmers to grow industrial hemp under a regulated system like the one implemented by Canada. You can write your representatives quickly and easily by clicking here to go to our Action Alert Center.
