Dear Constituent,
Thank you for contacting me to share your views about the Industrial Hemp Farming Act. I appreciate knowing your views on this matter.
This bill was introduced during the 111th Congress and Congress adjourned before the full Senate could consider and act upon this legislation. In order for this legislation to be considered, it must be reintroduced in the 112th Congress, which began on January 5, 2011. Please know I have made note of your views and will keep them in mind should this bill or similar legislation concerning hemp farming be considered during the 112th Congress.
The views of Oregonians are very important to my work in the U.S. Senate. Again, thank you for your input. I hope you will continue to send your thoughts and observations my way.
All my best,
Jeffrey A. Merkley
United States Senator
