Thank you for contacting me to share your views regarding federal agriculture programs and policies. I appreciate knowing your thoughts on this issue.
In the coming months, the 112th Congress will undertake a thorough review of many agriculture programs as it considers reauthorizing the five-year "Farm Bill." The bill is expected to include appropriations for many agricultural health and safety programs as well as farm subsidies. I will continue to support legislation in the Senate that provides appropriate assistance to small family farmers while reducing the public cost and scope of expensive farm subsidies. Please be assured that I will keep your concerns in mind when this legislation is considered by the full Senate.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views. Please feel free to contact me on this or any other matter of concern.
