728 acres of hemp were grown in Vermont in 2020, down from an estimated 4,750 acres in 2019

An Act Relating to Modifying the Requirements for Hemp Production in the State of Vermont. This bill proposes to: require persons to obtain a permit to grow hemp; remove the word “industrial” from references to hemp production in the State of Vermont; and give the Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets authority to assess fees to hemp permit applicants.
